Playfair House Hotel, Edinburgh

My stay at the hotel was overall pleasant. The room was spacious, although the shower was a bit small, it was perfectly adequate with a comfy bed, nice towels, toiletries, plenty of tea, coffee, and a nice sweet biscuit with chocolate. The service was very helpful, and the location was exactly what I was looking for. The dining experience was a bit disappointing with limited breakfast options, but the facilities were good.

I stayed at this hotel and found it to be a convenient choice with clean rooms, a comfortable bed, and an affordable price. However, the room needed attention with several issues like non-working switches, a falling bathroom door, no headboard on the bed, and general wear and tear. There was a noticeable smell of paint in the room.

I found the hotel to be in a perfect location, within walking distance to major attractions like Waverly Station, Princes Street, and the Royal Mile. The rooms were comfortable and well-equipped, but the bathroom setup was a bit unusual. The service was top-notch, with the staff being very polite and accommodating. However, the dining options were limited, and the breakfast was not as varied as expected.

The hotel rooms were a bit grubby with outdated decor resembling the 90s. I even got stuck in the bathroom during the night due to a missing door handle. The carpet felt sticky underneath my feet, and the paintwork was dirty, especially on the bathroom door. However, the room was spacious, albeit a small shower. It didn't quite meet my expectations and wasn't ready until 6 pm.

The hotel is conveniently located, with pleasant rooms and friendly service. The dining experience could use improvement, but overall, it offers good value for money.
